Job Description

Mainland is hiring! We are looking for a skilled Labourer, Shoring & Excavation to join our team.The Mainland Group of Companies, is a multidisciplinary construction service provider specializing in all civil works, excavation and energy such as site services, residential subdivisions, roads, highways, bridges, excavation, shoring, commercial site development and large industrial infrastructure projects. www.mainlandgroup.caThe Labourer, Shoring & Excavation is responsible for ensuring that the sites are well organized, clean, tidy and that the crews have everything they need to get the job done.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
  • Responsible for the general maintenance and support of the shoring sites
    • Carry wire mesh, rebar, and other assorted construction materials
    • Loading and unloading material and equipment
    • Assist with the installation of assorted anchor systems
  • Maintain quality results of work
  • Help maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues
  • Keeping a positive safety attitude and ensuring hazards are eliminated
Qualifications, Experience & Skillset
  • Previous construction experience is preferred
  • Shoring experience a definite asset.
  • First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset.
  • A positive attitude and a strong team mentality - willingness to learn and possibly help out our other divisions
  • Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals
  • Work as a team with other crew members on daily site activities
  • Understanding of safety and ability to communicate safety issues as they arise
  • Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all shift standing, walking, lifting and carrying, working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather.
  • Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed.
  • Willingness to learn and possibly work across all our divisions
  • Must be local to the Lower Mainland
  • Must possess valid Class 5 Drivers License and be able to travel to sites across region.
