In this pivotal role, you will be supporting the clinical adoption integration of Virtual Health Services by leading a clinical team developing strategy, implementing and evaluating transformational change initiatives with clinical, corporate and patient partners.Build on your career experience as you:

  • Lead Fraser Health through the creation and delivery of high-value virtual care portfolio of initiatives to achieve the quadruple aim.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff that enable and transform virtual solutions for inter professional clinical areas within hospital sites, community programs and primary care across Fraser Health and regional partners.
  • Build and manage portfolio governance that enables an agile approach and delivery of project and program benefits.
  • Develop and lead committees and working groups consisting of clinical, corporate and patient partners that will implement, evaluate and establish new solutions in virtual care.

  • Masters degree in nursing, education or a health care related field.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of recent related experience in a complex health care environment including progressive quality practice, education, project management and leadership experience.
  • Current practicing registration with the relevant regulatory college or professional association in British Columbia.
  • Agile, project and or change management certification/designation preferred, i.e. PROSCI

Manages a team of staff, including various project teams, and leads Fraser Health through virtual care developments and implementations, including proof of concept projects, full integration within clinical operations, and evaluation.The Leader, Virtual Care ensures developments are clinically led and enabled by technology while maintaining collaborative relationships with clinical leaders, staff, Professional Practice and other relevant stakeholders to ensure quality patient care is maintained and that clinical needs are met. Chairs steering committees that will identify virtual care needs, priorities, objectives and outcomes and works nationally to connect with other health organizations, paving way to collaborate on large virtual care research projects.Responsibilities:
  • Leads Fraser Health through the discussion and identification of virtual care opportunities/priorities that will support key objectives of improving the patient experience, improving patient health outcomes, ensuring care is affordable and improving the provider experience.
  • Leads and manages a team of staff that enable and transform virtual solutions for interprofessional clinical areas within hospital sites, community programs and primary care across Fraser Health.
  • Develops and leads committees and working groups consisting of all relevant stakeholders (e.g. executive leaders and sponsors, clinical directors, managers, clinical teams, subject matter experts, clinical informatics) that will implement, evaluate and establish virtual care.
  • Responsible for developing strategic plans, designs, and clinical policy that will transform care delivery, including how clinical operations are impacted and how standards of practice are maintained; working in collaboration with clinical leaders and staff, ensures virtual care models supports clinical objectives.
  • Leads Fraser Health through proof of concept projects; oversees the evaluation of outcomes (e.g. costs/savings/impacts/improvements) and how the concept can be expanded in order to recognize further advantages.
  • Leads the implementation of change initiatives related to Virtual Care; assesses impact and evaluates outcomes.
  • Leads the organization through the development and implementation of approved virtual care initiatives including full integration within clinical operations.
  • Evaluates clinical transformations and the use of enabling technologies. Partners with clinical operations to ensure they are using the technology properly and that clinical priorities continue to be recognized. Develops strategies and action plans to improve or address issues as required.
  • Develops strategies and forges opportunities to work with external stakeholders such as other health authorities, BCCSS, vendors, Ministry of Health, Canadian Health Infoway, and health organizations across Canada regarding shared virtual care projects that can benefit Fraser Health.
  • Leads and supports clinical and technical project teams to ensure stakeholders are appropriately engaged and deliverables are established and met; leads status, team and leadership meetings.
  • Provides reports, updates and communications to senior leadership, executive sponsors, Ministry of Health and other organizations as required.
  • Provides operational management including recruitment, retention and performance management of staff and budget accountability for the portfolio.
  • Represents clinical operations and technology enabled solutions on national, provincial, regional, and site/unit committees and projects and fosters effective linkages with other organizations.
Qualifications:Education and ExperienceMasters degree in nursing, education, or a health care related field plus a minimum seven (7) years of recent related experience in a complex health care environment including progressive quality practice, education, project management and leadership experience.   • Understanding of telehealth and virtual care in health care and related implementations throughout large complex health care environments.
  • Ability to develop strategy, policy, and implementation plans related to clinical transformations that support the use of virtual care technologies.
  • Ability to lead stakeholders and guide initiatives to ensure that the use of virtual care technologies enhances quality care and patient outcomes and meets clinical objectives.
  • Ability to guide and build consensus with interprofessional areas across the organization including clinical leaders, IMIT Services, Professional Practice, physicians, nursing, allied health, Pharmacy.
  • Advanced competency in project/program implementation, management and evaluation.
  • Ability to lead organization change.
  • Familiarity with current trends and issues relating to virtual care technologies and interprofessional practice.
  • Understanding of nursing and allied health legislation, statutes, regulations, and professional standards of practice.
  • Ability to identify virtual care opportunities that promote improved quality clinical care.
