We are looking for dynamic and professional medical office assistants (MOAs) to support our primary care clinic in Cloverdale, BC. This clinic is home to a multi-disciplinary team, including nurse practitioners, registered nurses, a social worker and clinical counsellor, as well as medical office assistants. The goal for our multidisciplinary team is to provide high-quality primary care (both in-person and virtually) for residents who are not currently attached to a primary care provider. We would love for you to join our team!This position requires an efficient and well-organized individual with strong communication and teamwork skills. We seek someone who is eager to support both clients and practitioners by performing a variety of administrative and clinical duties. These duties include, but are not limited to:· Registering and scheduling clients· Arranging client investigations, procedures, and specialist appointment bookings· Assisting practitioners with flow and operation of client visits and care· Organizing and prioritizing client care needs· Maintaining electronic client medical files· Data entry pertaining to qualitative and quantitative clinical analysis· Efficient use of electronic medical record software· Submitting provider billing· Upholding client confidentialityEducation, Training and Experience:· Grade 12 education or equivalent· Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant course· 2 years recent related experience in a primary care clinic office or specialist office is an asset, but not a requirement· Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered· Experience working with a culturally diverse client populationSkill and Abilities:· Ability to type 60 wpm· Demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures and computer software tools· Demonstrated ability to utilize and understand medical terminology· Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced healthcare environment· Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and work roles· Demonstrated proficiency in computer word processing, spreadsheet applications and specialized clinical information systems· Ability to operate related equipment· Physical ability to perform the duties of the position· Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instruction· Demonstrated ability to use a high degree of tact and diplomacy in working with others· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using all communication vehicles· Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain rapport with marginalized clients through use of culturally sensitive communication· Demonstrated ability to observe and recognize changes in clients and communicate them to the appropriate medical and/or clinical professional· Experience with an EMR (MedAccess) preferredAdditional Information:· Work hours include days, evenings and weekends (Saturdays)· Interviews conducted weekly until suitable candidates are selected· Compensation package is competitive and will be discussed further with successful candidatesWork Remotely
