Fraser Grain Terminal (FGT) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual to bring their passion and hands on skills to a role as Operations Supervisor for our terminal in Surrey, BC. This brand new, state of the art terminal is a joint venture between Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) and GrainsConnect Canada Operations Inc. (GrainsConnect) and will commence full operation in the fall of 2022.Our owners are investing in assets such as FGT to continue building on growth trajectory.Both partner companies in FGT have demonstrated their commitment to the growth of Canadian overseas markets by making significant investments in resources to efficiently export Canadian farmer’s grain and specialty product exports and contributing to the world’s food supply chain.P&H’s roots go back over 110 years, with a proud tradition of being a Canadian, family-owned and managed agri-business. P&H is growth-oriented, diversified and vertically integrated with operations that include grain handling, transportation, logistics, and merchandising, as well as crop inputs, flour milling and feed milling.Apply your skills and experience to the next step in your career.The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of the daily shipping & receiving operations of Fraser Grain Terminal (FGT).The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for:

• Setting the pace for the day ensuring that all Safety Policies, Operational Procedures, and Quality Management requirements are followed;
• Motivating their team to solve problems and implement solutions to meet or exceed goals set for the operations;
• Recognizing potential issues with production flow with shipping & receiving through their knowledge of PLC/HMI systems;
• Implementing continuous improvement processes, resulting in improvements in Safety, process flow and cost savings;
• Managing a harmonious work environment using the CBA as a guideline to manage the team;
• Collaborating work with logistics and scheduling personnel to meet production goals in an evolving schedule environment.

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in areas such as Business, Agriculture, Facilities Management, or relative equivalent work experience;
• Minimum 3 years of proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and provide direction to employees;
• Experience leading in a union environment with ability to manage effectively within the guidelines of CBAs;
• Experience with terminal operations; agricultural specific would be an asset;
• Familiar with supply chain management in all forms rail, sea and land would be an asset;
• Trained in Federal Health & Safety management to ensure that facility practices consistently meets government regulations, environmental, health & safety standards and industry codes including food safety;
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and time-management skills;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as multi-tasking skills;
• Flexible in work schedule to support 24/7 operational environment;
• Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours a day and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
