Job Description

At Van-Ed Equipment, we sell and service attachments for large equipment such as excavators. We are a well established and proud locally owned and operated small business looking to add a driven Shop Helper that brings heavy equipment experience to the team and is eager to do a bit of everything around the shop.HOURS: Monday -Friday: 8:00am-4:30pmROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Open our bays, and close at night including shut down procedures of moving equipment (forklifts, pallets)
  • Driving to pick up and deliver goods
  • Power washing, painting attachments
  • Light hydraulic mechanic duties
  • Helping shop hands when required
  • Handwriting on packing slips
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma completed and previous work experience in a similar role is a definitive asset
  • Forklift experience
  • Diplomatic and tactful in communications with customers and co-workers
  • Maintain spirit of cooperation with co-workers
  • Motivated self starter that can take and execute directions
  • Can work alone and with a team
  • Heavy equipment experience preferred
  • Must be in good physical condition (ability to stand, walk, sit and handle parts)
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Available on occasion to work outside regular business hours

  • Be courteous and eager in addition of having a good sense of responsibility
  • Possesses high interpersonal skills in order to develop and maintain working relationships
Physical Demands
  • Extensive sitting, standing, walking, pushing and reaching
  • Need full range of motion for reaching, bending and stooping
  • Lifting of heavy equipment of up to 50 pounds
  • May work outside and be exposed to weather
  • Fast paced environment
  • Exposure to adverse weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt and dust
License/Certification:
  • Class 5 Driver License
  • Clean driving abstract (Preferred)
  • Forklift License (Preferred)
