Job Description

Under the supervision and direction of the Warehouse Operations Manager, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for creating a functional work environment via maintenance of the warehouse, inventory and data entry. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and delivering training to warehouse staff to ensure safety protocols are upheld.ResponsibilitiesConduct audits of the warehouse to identify any safety hazards both inside and outside the warehouse premisesMitigate any identified safety issues in a timely mannerGreet all visitors to the warehouse and answer queries accordinglyCommunicate regularly with both management and techniciansGreet and assess needs of all techniciansOrient new technicians and out of town deployed techniciansCommunicate inventory changes, shortages to management and techniciansInterpret and fill technicians material ordersAnswer all queries via phone, email or in personComplete stock handling of company assets including, but not limited to:Physically receive items into the stockFill out necessary paperworkLabel and face boxes accuratelyStock shelves for easy identification and safetyParticipate in cycle counts or inventory spot checks and communicate stock levels to the supervisor(s)Maintain ease of accessibility, cleanliness and safety of stock acquisition for both warehouse staff and techniciansOrganize delivery of materials leaving the warehouse including palletizing, wrapping, communicating with delivery servicesCreate, maintain and collect sign out sheetsCreate documents and training manuals on an as needed basisUpdate documents as required including data changesTrain staff to locate and utilize documentsCreate, maintain and upload data in a timely manner including but not limited to sign out sheets, purchase order receiving, client receiving, material order logs, ship requests for material transfers and trackingUpload all information and documents into centralized database for easy access to the materials team and auditorsLook for opportunities and make recommendations for cost saving initiativesMaintain a safe, clean, organized work environmentAct in capacity of First Aid attendant and create and maintain all first aid checklists and first aid kitsEnhance the Organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentAdhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFLSupport Warehouse Associate I functions when time permitsSupport maintenance of high standards in housekeeping to promote safe work environmentPerform other duties as requested, directed or assignedPersonal QualitiesFlexible – open to change & new information and rapidly adapts to changing conditions or unexpected obstaclesDetail oriented – excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow through on assigned tasksIndependent - ability to work well under limited supervisionAnalytical Thinking/Problem Solving - capable of complex reasoning analysisResults focused – driven to achieveInterpersonal skills – able to collaborate on projects, maintain effective relationships, and communicate clearly at all levels of the businessAdaptability - capable of working in a fast-paced environment, adapt to various situations, and prioritize multiple work assignments simultaneouslyTeam Player skills - Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and follow leadership directives at appropriate timesAbility to work independently in an entrepreneurial mind-set.Valid Forklift Ticket an assetQualificationsMinimum 3+ experience with shipping and receiving, stock keeping, and managing inventoryExperience with Telecom materials is an assetProficient in MS Office, specifically ExcelHighly developed data entry skills with both speed and accuracyAble to carry and lift product exceeding 30 lbs.Normal color vision to work with color-coded wiringWorking ConditionsNormal office environment.General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.Some minimal travel may be required.Minimum EducationPreferred Degree or TypeCertificate or DiplomaBusiness Administration
