Job Description

Job Title: Employment CounsellorEmployer: Crosswinds - Employment Assistance Services ProgramTerms of Employment: 18 Month Term Position, 40hrs/wkSalary: To be negotiated, depending on qualifications and experienceAnticipated Start Date: October 17, 2022Location: Sussex, New Brunswick (Remote work not available)Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background, and career goals
  • Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés, preparing for job interviews, and job maintenance
  • Assess need for assistance such as support services, further training, and eligibility for government programs and refer clients to the appropriate services
  • Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information
  • Work cooperatively with other community groups and agencies, government departments, and employers
  • Perform administrative tasks and operate Microsoft applications to carry out duties
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science
Experience:
  • 1 year counselling or client-focused work experience preferred, willing to train
  • Experience working with individuals with a disability is an asset
Language:
  • English imperative, bilingualism would be considered an asset
