• Research plans, titles, documents and related geospatial information.
• Prepare files, maps and data for survey projects.
• Analyze and check field data returns. Process field data into deliverables.
• Assist in the field on survey projects.
• Assist with records management, data loading and quality assurance.
• Review historical surveying records and archive them according to classification standards.
• Maintain, clean, monitor and report the condition of equipment and vehicles
• Adhere to the safety requirements of the client, OH&S and the GeoVerra Safety program.
• Participate in Emergency Response Planning, Hazard Assessment, Job Safety Analysis development, daily tailgate meetings and complies with all safety activities identified
• Assist with the use of GNSS receivers for RTK, RTN static measurements and total stations
• Learn about and operate emerging technologies including drones and 3D laser scanning equipment

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree program related to Geomatics Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering Technology and completed at least second year of studies OR completed a technical Geomatics related diploma and working towards degree.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Knowledge and understanding of surveying and mapping in transportation would be considered an asset.
• Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD and MicroStation will also be considered assets.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
• Well developed analytical and problem-solving abilities along with demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2022.
  • Pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
  • Clear criminal background check
