We offer a competitive hourly wage, the opportunity to work with other highly experienced staff, and career growth opportunities by promoting from within our organization.Your Contribution to NRSINRSI is looking for a motivated and independent individual to conduct a variety of field monitoring activities, primarily conducting wildlife mortality searches at operating wind and/or solar energy facilities. These individuals are also anticipated to provide some support to a variety of other wildlife monitoring activities throughout Saskatchewan and/or Alberta. This position provides an opportunity to gain experience in visual bird and bat identification, to implement scientific methods, and to collect and analyze data employing a high attention to detail.The majority of the contract period is expected to provide full-time hours.Your Education:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma, or high school diploma.
Your Field Skills:
  • Willing & able to work under inclement weather, in a variety of environmental and vegetation conditions, for long hours, and occasionally on holidays or weekends.
  • Physically fit in order to walk for several hours each day in potentially challenging terrain.
  • Demonstrated interest in wildlife and the environment, including the desire to pursue a career in this field.
Additional Requirements:
  • A good work ethic and positive attitude, dependability, flexibility, and excellent communication.
  • Ability to work independently on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving in all aspects of work, including the maintenance of well-organized and detailed field notes.
  • Committed to continual improvement of technical abilities.
Assets:
  • Experience in the identification of birds and/or bats by sight.
  • Experience surveying for wildlife and/or conducting soil assessments, vegetation inventories, or delineating vegetation communities using standard survey protocols.
