Dillon has been listed as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the past 15 years and has the distinction of having achieved Platinum Club member status in this program.We are currently seeking candidates for an interim (contract) position as a Construction Observer.Responsibilities:What your day may look likeProject workOn-site construction observation of infrastructure projects, ensuring that projects meet the requirements of contract drawings and specificationsCoordination, monitoring, and witnessing of required testing activities to ensure that testing is being carried out at the prescribed frequency and that the results are acceptableManagement of daily records of site conditions, activities, quantities and progress of workLeading or supporting of contract administration as required, including the preparation of progress payment certificates and meeting minutesQualifications:What you will need to succeedEducationA degree in Civil Engineering or diploma in Civil Engineering TechnologyEligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Certified Engineering Technologist-in-Training0 - 2 years' related work experienceExperience:ExperienceWorking knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial standards and regulatory requirementsFamiliarity with contract administration services and requirementsBasic knowledge of municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirements
