At CBRH, the opportunity exists to have a rewarding practice with ongoing support from currently established dermatologists in the region. The successful candidate may also participate in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.CBRH opened its door to patients in 1995. Now, it is the second largest acute care facility in Nova Scotia that serves more than 200,000 patients a year. It is part of a four hospital complex that also includes Glace Bay, New Waterford Consolidated, and Northside General Hospitals.Located in the historic town of Sydney, CBRH has 162 acute care beds, 36 emergency beds, 23 intermediate and critical care beds, 40 maternal child beds, 52 mental health and addiction beds, and nine palliative care beds. The hospital provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient, and community-based programs.Services:

Responsibilities
  • perform a full scope of practice as a dermatologist
  • support and receive support from the infectious decease clinic, plastic surgery clinic, wound care clinic and rheumatology clinic at CBRH
  • care for inpatient and outpatients at CBRH
Expected Hours
  • full-time: 37.5 hours per week
  • hours at physicians discretion
Qualifications
  • all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
