They will have a unique opportunity to shape cancer care for the future of Cape Breton by having input and impact on the new Cancer Centre which broke ground in 2020.The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to make important contributions to cancer care at a provincial level by participating in all relevant disease site tumor boards, and contributing to the further development of Nova Scotia Health’s Cancer Care Program. Depending on interest and expertise, there may also be opportunities for engagement with the Atlantic Clinical Cancer Research Unit, based in Halifax. It is expected that the successful candidate will build and foster close collaborative relationships with the Division of Medical Oncology (Central Zone), with a shared commitment to clinical research and evidence-based care to enable patients to benefit from the most current advances in treatment.The specialist will also be provided with the opportunity to engage in research and/or have a medical teaching position with Dalhousie University, should that be of interest.About Cape Breton Regional HospitalCape Breton Regional Hospital is a 250 bed tertiary care institution that provides a broad range of medical care to patients in the Eastern Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
