Job Description

Your Opportunity:The Administrative Support II - Health Information/Records Management will be working under the general supervision and guidance of the Site Point of Contact (SPOC) and Supervisor, HIM Southwest Rural. The Administrative Support II - Health Information/Records Management is responsible for specified Health Information/ Records Management (HI/RM) activities and helps maintain the integrity of the patient health record through identifying missing reports on charts, filing, retrieving and sorting confidential patient information as required.Description:As an Administrative Support II, you will require administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.Additional Required Qualifications:Medical Terminology required, proficiency test will be administered. Keyboarding skills required, proficiency test will be administered. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Confident to work independently and in a team environment with excellent communication skills. Skilled at paying close attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive and tactful at all times. Able to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions. Ability to work in front of a computer screen for extended periods. Must be physically able to perform duties involving; standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and stretching for extended periods of time.Preferred Qualifications:Graduate of a Unit Clerk or Medical Office Assistant course, preferred. Previous hospital experience in an office environment, preferred. Previous experience in Health Information/Records Management, preferred. Experience with Meditech, preferred.
