Job Description

Temporary CasualCompetition No. JP21-042Internal/External PostingDURATION: Casual Position, temporary vacancy with potential to becomeSUPERVISOR: Kory Ostrup, Aquatics SupervisorWAGE: $17.87/ hrHOURS OF WORK: Up to 20 hours / weekCLOSE DATE: Until suitable candidate is foundPOSITION SUMMARY:The Town of Taber is accepting applications for an individual to fill a temporary vacancy of a casual Aquafun Centrecashier position. As a member of the Aquafun Centre team, this position performs a variety of reception, clerical, and cashreceipting duties to support recreation facilities. This position also provides a clean and safe environment for customersand staff at the Aquafun Centre. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, proven experience working in a teamenvironment, excellent interpersonal skills. This position falls within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 2038.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives customers and telephone calls. Determines the purpose of the request and provides or obtains the necessary
information or refers to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collects and processes payments such as admissions, lessons, rentals and confections.
  • Reconciles receipts and float and prepares bank deposit.
  • Books facilities such as pool, meeting rooms, arenas, sports fields, and auditorium.
  • Processes registrations for programs such as swim lessons, summer programs and special events.
  • Maintains and updates records such as reports, statistics, checklists and procedure manuals.
  • Monitors customers and enforces facility rules & regulations.
  • Performs janitorial duties such as cleaning washrooms, glass, and lobby and spectator area.
  • Participates in annual aquatic centre cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
  • Prepares documents such as correspondence, mail outs and posters.
  • Participates in the workplace health and safety program, including monthly worksite and hazard inspections.
  • Performs other related duties such as updating recorded schedule information, health & safety duties, assisting with
special events/birthday parties & restocking supplies.QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience handling cash
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Standard First Aid/CPR/AED Level C
  • Ability to provide a clean Police Information Check
