Shipwheel Cattle Feeders Ltd., a 4th Generation family farm in Taber AB, that currently operates a 5500 head feedlot and we have a summer grazing operation. Shipwheel produces 3 types of compost, honey, fruit, eggs and we are experimenting with a chaos garden. We are very a very dynamic, diverse, company that has a focus on regenerative agriculture. We are looking to add a key Part - Time person to our team.Farm Enterprise Production AssistantAre you an energetic, idealistic, passionate person Do you have a desire to advocate for the agriculture industry Do you have passion and skill for marketing Do you enjoy regenerative agriculture and local food We are searching for a person that has energy and passion to put behind a project and get it established in accordance to Shipwheel’s 3 part goal; which simply put, includes the People, Environment and Finances.Role and Responsibilities· General worker to perform some or all of the following duties (but not limited to):· Marketing of Shipwheel Cattle Feeders, maintenance of Shipwheel’s website and maintaining a positive social media presence.· Ensure feed and health of laying hens and Nelly the goat· Production, care, packaging and marketing of; vermicompost, bees and honey, fungal compost, chaos garden, laying hens and eggs, fruit orchard· Establishment and promotion of the “Farm Store”· Assisting the Shipwheel manager and the administrator with various tasks throughout the yearQualifications and Education Requirements· There is no specific education or training requirements.· Basic farm knowledge, usually obtained by working on a family farm would be an asset.· Experience, knowledge or education in regenerative agriculture and/or marketing would also be considered an assetPreferred Skills· Special consideration will be given to those with an open mind and an intense desire to learn about sustainability, regenerative agriculture, soil health, carbon sequestration and Holistic Management.Additional Notes· This job would commence immediately and would be part time (8 am -1 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional help on weekends and weeknights). This position could turn into a full time position when it is deemed financially feasible.· A valid driver’s license is necessary and there is no housing provided.Part-time hours: 25 per weekJob Types: Part-time, PermanentSalary: $18.00-$21.00 per hourSchedule:
