Your Opportunity:The Nursing Attendant provides patient care services as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The Nursing Attendant works as a member of the interdisciplinary team, in a continuing care / long term care setting. The type of supervision (direct or indirect) will depend on the complexity of the tasks or procedure being assigned, the stability of the resident and the skill level of the worker performing it. The Nursing Attendant participates in the delivery of quality individualized, client-centred care, based on assessed unmet needs of the resident. Responsibilities include providing direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort and safety of the resident and providing indirect services to support the overall provision of care in their assigned area. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.Description:As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
