With more than 15,000 agriculture clients and a team of over 600 agriculture specialists, we deliver a diverse suite of services specifically tailored to help operations thrive.ROLE @ MNP:ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the agricultural industry through interactions with clients, key agricultural leaders in the community and fellow colleaguesPromote the Firm in the community through strategic involvement in external organizations, social events and agricultural based professional associationsDevelop a referral base from effectively networking with contacts and other professionals and generate new contactsParticipate in strategically identified MNP business development events and develop the ability to engage target audience at these eventsEffectively network to develop relationships with MNP experts in all service lines and nichesDevelop skills in marketing MNP through presentations, speeches, conferences and company sponsored functionsDevelop ability to ensure clients and targets have the information they need in order to make decisions and to accept additional services that add valueWork as part of a pursuit team in target pursuit activities for new clientsDevelop ability to recognize and capitalize on opportunities to sell servicesDevelop ability to provide alternatives to client or target and effectively explain how each alternative can address their needs and how the engagement will be affectedProactively seek and/or volunteer for additional assignments, responsibilities, etc.Contribute ideas and solutions to assist with the development and/or implementation of changeRecognize different personality and communication styles and adjust approach accordinglyDevelop effectiveness in identifying and resolving communication issues between othersConvey messages in a clear and concise manner to small and/or medium audiencesDevelop ability to manage questions within a presentation to help audience clearly understand perspectiveManage team compliance with MNP values and code of conduct including confidentiality, integrity, honesty and ethical behaviourEarn respect and trust from others by building relationshipsEncourage team members to have a strong work ethic and commitment to client service excellenceEncourage positive contributions and solution focused discussions when issues may ariseContribute to decision making processes that are aligned to what is best for the team vs. individual gainsCreate a safe environment where others feel they can contribute to group discussions openly and honestlyProvide ongoing, timely and specific, positive and constructive feedback to enhance team member skills and job performance, both informally and at formal performance meetingsEffectively liaise between leadership and teamAccept accountability for overall engagement completions and ensure all deadlines are communicated and metAchieve appropriate turnaround on engagementsChallenge processes and tasks that were performed in the past and seek opportunities for increased effectiveness and efficiencyComplete assigned engagements within budget/parametersDelegate tasks for optimum engagement leverageIssue invoices according to the billing policyMonitor work-in-progress (WIP) and engagement budgets in accordance with WIP policyEffectively manage engagements to achieve target realizationAdhere to quality assurance and risk management practices when seeking improvements in engagements and/or methodologiesRespond to client requests, issues and concerns in a professional and timely manner, seeking guidance when necessaryDevelop ability to understand unique features of clients’ business/industryMaintain technical competence by continuing to participate in professional education programs and training sessionsDemonstrate in-depth knowledge and application of MNP standards for engagement performanceReview others’ work for accuracy and completenessApply professional judgement when making non-routine decisions and seek guidance where appropriateSkills and Experience2 years of experience post CPA designation; preference will be given to those who have experience working in a public accounting services FirmPrevious accounting work with agricultural clients will be considered an assetSome travel may be requiredMY REWARDS @ MNP:More than a paycheque, MNP is proud to offer customized rewards for our team members.
