In doing so the team enables the operations to meet business objectives and achieve outstanding outcomes focused on prioritizing, planning, and delivering on performance improvement areas.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an Engineering Service Manager to join our Operations Team in Thompson, MB. This is a permanent position. Relocation to Thompson is required.The role is accountable for delivering improved performance of assets and reliability across the Manitoba Operations. Working with the site mangers, this role leads the development, implementation, management and optimization of the reliability strategy for 2 Manitoba underground mines (T1amp; T3) and the Manitoba Concentrator Facility.The role manages the Service and Support areas of the Work Management System providing maintenance planning of work and researching improvement opportunities in maintenance management and plant reliability. This role works cross functionally with the Managers across the Manitoba Operations.Accountabilities for the position include:

  • The role adds value by carrying out ongoing analysis of the maintenance processes, implementation of the Asset Management Framework, benchmarking of best practices, asset integrity and reliability management.
  • Providing collective input into maintenance plan development and adjustment to ensure realistic and effective standards are applied to ensure credibility of KPI application and subsequent corrective actions.
  • Developing departmental safety plans to continuously reduce the level of risk to the workforce and move the department towards the goal of ZERO harm.
  • The role will optimize existing operating systems within the Manitoba Operations to increase efficiency, reduce time requirements or move the work to the appropriate level within the organization.
  • Leading of a Unionized and Non-Unionized workforce, talent pool development and planning to meet organizational requirements including but not limited to recruitment, employee development, performance management and personal development.
  • Manage Central Engineering and ensure compliance to all required legislative requirements and standards.
  • Managing Reliability Engineering while ensuring focus and prioritization aligns with the business plan.
  • Accountability for assembling all inputs into the 5-year maintenance strategy directly supporting the 5 years sustaining capital and operating budgets. Inputs include the asset integrity database, structural integrity assessments and other engineering reports, mobile assessments, and SAP work orders.
  • Central contact for Integrated Asset Management ensuring system processes and workflows align.
  • Designing and integrating of all engineering functions to improve efficiency and workflow in various departments (Central, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering).
  • Trades Apprenticeship Program Governance for the MB Operations.
About YouEducation:
  • P. Eng. within Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or Civil disciplines.
Experience:
  • Minimum 11 years #39; experience in a similar position.
Skills:
  • Engineering studies and Projects knowledge
  • Maintenance execution and reliability management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, influence and collaborate with others to build effective working relationships.
  • Experience in building and leading multidiscipline teams across variety of functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Software skills in of MS Office products and CMMS systems (SAP).
