Job Description

Looking for a summer job that’s fun, by the waterfront and gets you access to one of Toronto’s most iconic events Come join our team at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)!The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America. With something for everyone, our event offers a wide variety of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats!The CNE fair is a cherished tradition, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. Be a part of this summer tradition and help us inspire Canadians and create memories.Reporting to the 50/50 Assistant Manager, the 50/50 Roving Seller’s primary focus will be to sell 50/50 raffle tickets. The 50/50 raffle program is in support of community initiatives of the CNE Foundation, including youth sports, arts and scholarship programs.Responsibilities

    • Promote and sell 50/50 raffle tickets using an electronic tablet and printer
    • Follow sales procedures as outlined by the 50/50 Management to ensure sales methods are in compliance AGCO requirements
    • Positively communicate objectives and initiatives of 50/50 program to patrons
    • Request identification (ID) from patrons as required
    • Provide Problem Gambling Information as required
    • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships throughout the sales process
    • Handle cash and credit transactions
    • Achieve agreed upon sales targets
    • Accountable for accurate sales records and cash out at the end of each shift
    • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
    • Required to complete orientation including responsible gambling training
    • Cash handling and/or sales experience would be considered an asset
    • Flexibility to work all 18 days of the CNE (August 19 - Sept. 5, 2022)
    • Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends as required, especially during peak period.
Special Conditions
    • Required to dress in appropriate uniform including wearing a backpack with flag for duration of shift
    • Must be able to move throughout the entire CNE grounds
    • May be required to remain in stationary position for extended durations
    • Will be required to work both indoors & outdoors in varying weather conditions
