Bloorview Research Institute Summer Student With Lived Experience OpportunityDescriptionThe Bloorview Research Institute (BRI) established the summer student work placement opportunity for students with disabilities to enhance the inclusion of young people with disabilities in pediatric rehabilitation research. This work placement will expose young people with disabilities to the field of research and pediatric rehabilitation and provide them with the opportunity to experience a unique mentorship experience. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences. Her research focuses on transitions to adulthood and participation and inclusion and lived experiences of youth and young adults with disabilities. The summer student will be involved in ongoing projects within the TRAIL lab including: (1) Enhancing healthy and productive work for youth with disabilities; (2) ableism and discrimination among youth with disabilities; (3) accessible housing for people with disabilities.
