The system consists of 42 libraries located on three university campuses: St. George, Mississauga, and Scarborough. This array of college libraries, special collections, and specialized libraries and information centres supports the teaching and research requirements of 300 graduate programs, over 70 professional programs, and more than 700 undergraduate degree programs. More than 150,000 new print volumes are acquired each year. The Libraries data centre houses more than 200 servers with a storage capacity of 1.5 petabytes.Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Head, Scholarly Communications and Copyright Office, the Access & Information Services Specialist serves as a key staff member supporting the Syllabus Service at the central libraries. Coordinates the acquisitions workflow of a unit responsible for delivery of the Syllabus Service to library patrons.The Access & Information Services Specialist is the primary liaison for the department in coordinating acquisition of ebooks, books and streaming media for reading lists in the central system. The Access & Information Services Specialist also acts as liaison with other departments and staff of the library or the University as required, to complete the work of the unit and to fulfill the service mandate, such as acquiring materials to support teaching in a timely manner.Additionally, the Access & Information Services Specialist provides workflow leadership and maintaine the work schedule and training of both full-time and part-time staff, as well as providing direct public service for the work unit.Qualifications:(Minimum)Education: Community College graduation (preferably in Library and Information Technical studies), a combination of equivalent education and experience will be consideredExperience: Minimum of two years experience gained in a library setting required. Requires knowledge of bibliographic database searching, collection damage prevention techniques, binding, health and safety, library classification systems, preservation techniques, and the working structure of the library.Other Skills: Working knowledge of library services platforms (Alma/Primo/Leganto), Windows softwareapplications, e-payment platforms, digital collection creation/management, and web browsers required. Workingknowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail software required; ability to recognize titles in languagesother than English and to decipher bibliographic citations and abbreviations required. Working knowledge ofcontent collaboration and management workspaces (such as Confluence), required.
