We currently have Regular Full-Time opportunities for Accounts Receivable Clerk on the Patient Accounts at Bayview Campus.Hours of Work:Weekdays: Days, 7.5hrs; As per scheduleSummary of DutiesThe Patient Billing department of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre’s Finance department has an immediate full-time opening for a permanent Accounts Receivable Clerk. This position will work out of the Hospital’s St John’s Campus (285 Cummer Avenue Toronto). Patient Accounts is a high-volume, fast paced department responsible for all billing and collections at the Hospital. Working within a team of over 20, this role provides coverage for Cash Desk Operations and supports non OHIP billing and collections for ambulance, preferred accommodation, WSIB, IFH, interprovincial, device and other sundry charges.Provide coverage for Cash Desk operations:Processing and receipting patient paymentsProcessing petty cash transactionsDepositing cheque paymentsBalancing cash operations at the end of the dayProcess bills in the Hospital billing system and ensure all required information has been correctly obtained and enteredPrepare invoices for mailing. Follow up returned mail to obtain a correct mailing addressRespond to patient and insurance carrier billing related queries. Assist as needed to rectify billing issuesProcess WSIB, interprovincial insurance and IFH insurance claimsOn a daily basis review accounts to ensure accurate billing amounts and clear billing deficienciesReview accounts receivable aging reports and perform follow up to ensure accounts remain currentMake collection calls/utilize email as required to collect past due accountsOther related duties as assignedQualifications/SkillsIn order to succeed in this role, the successful candidate must possess the following required and preferred qualifications and skills:REQUIRED:Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounts receivable department which includes soft collections (Hospital or Medical Clinic experience strongly preferred)Proficient and accurate data entry skillsDemonstrated competence with computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)Strong written and verbal customer relations skillsSuperior attention to detailAbility to deal directly with patients and families with sensitivity, patience and discretionExcellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and meet competing demands in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environmentAbility to work independentlyPREFERRED:Graduation from a Community College Accounting Program or equivalentFamiliarity with HCRM billing softwareKnowledge of other languagesQualified candidates are invited to submit their cover letter and resume (in one document) quoting 201462 to:Human ResourcesSunnybrook Health Sciences CentreSunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is committed to providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
