We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.PurposeThe Static Data Reference team is looking for a candidate to be responsible for supporting the Equity and Fixed Income businesses by completing books and security set-ups as requested and trouble shooting issues in the front and back-end systems. They will also verify any data inconsistencies and investigate with the various teams and ensure a timely resolution. A high standard of quality is required at all times in order to reduce operational risk. They will ensure all setups are in compliance to Bank policies/procedures, and regulatory requirements. This may include interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, reviewing and understanding the various business lines that we support and regulatory rules/requirements.Accountabilities

  • Work with the Manager to help resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of GWO, Front Office and Middle Office
  • Deliver a positive client experience and data accuracy for all books and securities across different source systems maintained by GWO Static Data
  • Act as a central point of contact with other departments for books/securities related issues and champion continuous improvement initiatives that support the optimal function for the businesses that we support
  • Performing new security set up and static data validation and maintenance
  • Assist with documentation of updated standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Contribute/participate in user acceptance testing activities for ongoing system enhancements or implementation of new systems
  • Contribute to the protection of the Bank from exposure to loss by ensuring compliance with Bank policies/procedures and regulatory requirement
Requirements
  • The ability to work with urgent and time sensitive request on a timely manner
  • Excellent research and information gathering skills, with the ability to identify, document and recommend solutions to complex business problems with accuracy.
  • Prioritization – ability to multi-task and support multiple projects simultaneously, with competing priorities under short timelines
  • Innovative – seeks out innovative solutions and champions continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of GLOSS, MMI and Anvil systems would be an asset
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Goals and results oriented, deadline driven and self-motivated
  • Works well in a busy team environment
  • Industry knowledge especially in the Equity and Fixed Income areas is an asset
