Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Supports Architectural Manager and Senior Architectural Manager in the product offering development process for new developments as assigned;
Project Support:
  • Coordinates documentation between consultants, manufacturers, trades and internal stakeholders and track deliverables;
  • Coordinates production of marketing ready floor plans, sales floor plan schedules and design centre floor plans;
  • Coordinates production of lot fit matrix and related specialty drawings and details;
  • Performs document reviews for adequate coordination between business plan, product design brief, design drawings, marketing/sales collateral and contract documentation;
  • Performs construction site visits and coordinates document reviews with internal stakeholders to obtain feedback and ensure details and specifications are optimized to reduce construction complexity and cost,
  • Coordinates drawing specification and standard library revisions, including design and construction details and performance standards;
  • Assists with executing external consultant RFP;
  • Maintain product library and update master product matrix;
  • Coordinates new product and material research, competitor market analysis, and data management and analysis;
  • Supports innovation initiatives through the following stages: research, feasibility analysis, development of business case, project management of pilot projects, and development of lessons learned;
  • Support product and process enhancement initiatives
  • Support and coordinate, reports, presentations, etc.
  • Performs other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
Team Support:
  • Participates in special projects as required;
  • Adheres to timesheet tracking and submission requirements;
  • Performs electronic and hard copy filing of project documentation as required;
Financial Accountability:
  • Coordinates and reports metrics;
  • Participates in development of cost effective alternatives to improve financial performance in all areas.
Management and Leadership:
  • Establishes, builds and maintains relationships with peers and trades.
Technical Competencies:Education: College Diploma / University Degree in Architecture.Experience: A minimum of three (3+) years of previous professional experience in design development process for residential wood frame, production built projects.Specialized Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Customer focused;
  • Team Player;
  • Problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC);
  • Knowledge of sustainable design strategies is an asset (ie. high performance envelopes, Net Zero energy, healthy materials, etc);
  • Microsoft Office (Project is an asset).
