Job DescriptionStep into the spotlight as the Area Director of Marketingamp; Communications for Canada’s Central Canada Region. You #39;ll helm the marketing and communications for six world-class city hotels: Fairmont Royal York, Fairmont Chateau Laurier, Fairmont Palliser, Sheraton Suites Eau Claire, Fairmont Winnipeg and Fairmont Macdonald. Reporting to the Regional Director, Salesamp; Marketing, you #39;ll lead Fairmont Royal York’s Marketing and PR efforts and oversee PR and communications for the entire Central Canada region.You will spearhead strategies to maximize profitability through innovative marketing campaigns and public relations tactics that will elevate the hotel #39;s brand and positioning. Your role will encompass creating impactful events and activations, enhancing customer satisfaction, and positioning the property as a luxury destination.Fairmont Royal York Marketing and Communications:

  • Develop and implement marketing and public relations strategies to boost revenues and enhance the hotel #39;s luxury positioning.
  • Oversee the creation and management of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies for the hotel.
  • Provide strategic direction for Central Canada regional marketing, communications and PR, including crisis management and corporate brand initiatives.
  • Contribute to revenue goals, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote environmental and social initiatives to elevate the hotel #39;s and brand #39;s profile within the community.
Regional PR:
  • Provide strategic direction for regional PR, ensuring alignment with corporate and regional goals.
  • Act as the liaison with Fairmont Corporate Office, ensuring the region stays current with all corporate initiatives and advising on regional and property-level programs.
  • Develop and oversee annual PR, marketing and communications plans for the region and individual hotels, managing the execution of corporate and brand PR strategies.
  • Collaborate with tourism partners to maximize hotel awareness through the regional visiting media program.
  • Oversee the region’s visiting media program, developing unique story ideas and securing press placements in top-tier publications.
  • Act as the primary media spokesperson for the region, representing the hotels in all PR matters.
Media Relationsamp; Marketing Communications:
  • Serve as the hotel spokesperson and a member of the crisis management team.
  • Generate and manage new and traditional media initiatives.
  • Write and distribute press kits, releases, editors’ advisories, and calendar listings.
  • Develop and build positive relationships with local media and industry partners.
  • Develop and maintain all media lists and contact information.
  • Conduct media familiarization trips and regional media outreach/hosting as needed.
  • Seek product placement and broadcast/film opportunities.
  • Submit monthly media measurement reports to Corporate PR, DOSM, and General Manager.
