This full-time appointment will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description as a Clinician Teacher or Clinician in Quality & Innovation at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. It is expected that the position will be 75% clinical and 25% related to teaching, quality improvement initiatives, and/or administrative duties. Expected start date is July 1, 2022 or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.The successful candidate will have expertise in catheter ablation, with an emphasis on supraventricular tachycardia, and device implantation. Prior experience managing a cardiac implantable device clinic would be an asset. Teaching experience will be measured by the presence of a strong track record of interests and excellence in resident and fellow education, formal training in teaching methodology, awards, leadership as a clinical educator and other relevant experience. Quality improvement excellence will be assessed by the presence of dissemination of successful practices, significant invited presentations, awards, accolades and other related accomplishments.The successful applicant will join the Division of Cardiology which is one of the largest divisions within the Department of Medicine with 21 full-time and 11 part-time community cardiologists. As a major provider of tertiary and quaternary cardiac services and leader in less invasive structural heart interventions, the Division of Cardiology serves as a regional cardiac referral centre for many complex cardiac procedures. Responsibilities will include excellence in clinical care of both in-patients and out-patients, liaison with primary care, supervision of trainees in clinical care setting, formal teaching and scholarly achievements.The successful candidate must hold an MD degree; have or be eligible for certification in Cardiology/Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have or be eligible for licensure to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $300,000-$400,000 (fee-for-service estimate) commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which clinical billings and benefits will be administered.
