Job Description

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) works in sync with the General Manager to shape, lead and motivate a vibrant team towards the day-to-day goals and smooth operations of the entire 89,000 square foot facility. This individual takes pride in overseeing all front of the house member services, as well a lively and dynamic studio fitness team. A successful AGM understands the importance of a five-star member experience and its direct relation to member retention. These multi-taskers use key performance indicators to ensure a service-oriented culture exists in each department while carefully maintaining pre-set budgetary controls. They love to crush goals, maximized efficiencies, drive revenues, inspire and develop their team, all while providing world-class customer service to all guests and members.This job might be for you if you have the following talents & spirit:

As an Assistant General Manager, a typical day might include the following:
  • Oversee all club operations but have a clear focus on the following departments: youth programs, Active Kids Club, studio fitness, club administration (specifically accounts receivables)
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise staff, leads, and managers
  • Develop team members through ongoing training, coaching, and support
  • Attend all team meetings and contribute knowledge and advice to improve the department’s overall performance
  • Contribute to team effort by “pitching in” whenever needed
  • Address member/client questions and concerns in a professional manner
To land this role you need to have:
  • Post-secondary education relating to the health and fitness industry and additional certifications or workshops relating to sales, marketing, and administration is an asset
  • 3 - 5+ years facility operations experience
  • 3 - 5+ years personnel management experience
  • Proven ability to engage, inspire, motivate, and lead 200+ team members
  • Success in exceeding individual and team sales goals
  • All management/leadership team members must have Standard First Aid and CPR – Level C Certification before the start date and maintained throughout employment. CPR is to be renewed annually.
  • All team members must provide a recent Criminal Background Check before training and work commencement
