Purpose:Reporting directly to the Provost & Vice-President Academic, the Assistant Vice-President Institutional Planning & Chief Data Officer (AVP IP & CDO) is responsible for the on-going leadership of the Office of Institutional Planning and Analysis (OIPA) at York University. Under the leadership of the AVP IP & CDO, OIPA is responsible for supporting the operationalization of the University's Academic Plan (UAP), integrating academic and administrative processes (integration of institutional enrolment, budget, human resources and capital planning processes) within the institution's Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) framework, ensuring appropriate dissemination of data to Faculties and other units across campus to support their work, conducting appropriate research and analysis and preparing reports for internal and external purposes, monitoring and reporting on progress towards plans. supporting the alignment of resources with priorities, and liaising with relevant external agencies such as the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) and the Council of Ontario Universities (COU). Working closely with the Provost, the AVP IPA & CDO and his/her team will be responsible for institutional academic resource planning. The AVP IP & CDO is a highly visible position within the York community (representing the University's Institutional Planning and Analysis strategies) as well as externally with professional organizations and government personnel. As such, while the AVP IP & CDO reports directly to the Provost and Vice President Academic, the AVP IP & CDO will work closely with the President and University Executive (Vice-Presidents, AVPs, Deans, Executive Directors) to integrate various planning processes to support the achievement of the University's academic and strategic priorities. The AVP IP & CDO monitors and analyzes external policies through coordinated liaison with government, other institutions and university offices and organizations and in turn, recommend appropriate strategies to the President, Provost, and other Vice-Presidents as appropriate.OIPA has five key areas to support its mandate: (1) Strategic Enrolment Management. (2) Integrated Resource Planning. (3) Institutional Research and Analysis. (4) Academic Resource Planning. and (5) Data Governance, as well as plays a leadership role in building institutional capacity to support the University's achievement of its goals and initiatives.Education:Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field required.Experience:Ten years' experience in large complex organization, university experience preferred. Experience with budgets, data analysis and enrolment planning required. Experience with preparing and presenting plans to senior level executives and committees. Experience managing employees in a unionized environment is preferred. Experience working with government, especially MCU is an asset.Skills:Comprehensive knowledge of university operations.
