We are Ontario's leading law firm in real estate co-ownership and fractional property investment.Aura LLP donates 2% of its legal fee from every residential real estate closing to Homes First Society. Homes First provides supportive housing, shelter and support services across Toronto for over 35 years.Job descriptionAbout AuraAura LLP seeks a lawyer with 2-5 years of experience in the areas of real estate, wills and estates (including trusts) and corporate/business law or a combination of these areas. Additional experience in any of the following areas will be highly regarded, but not essential:

  • business and real estate transactions
  • media
  • real estate development, land use & municipal
Good communication skills, client-focused attitude ability to work in a team as well as autonomously are a must. The candidate will carry their own files, however with supervision by the partners at all times.Candidates with an existing book of business or skills to develop business will be highly regarded, however not essential.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Management of client files
  • Principal responsibility for purchase, sale and refinance matters
  • Drafting various real estate-related documents including co-ownership agreements, status certificates, agreements of purchase and sale and Closing Documents
  • Preparation of trust and estates documents that range from simple Wills to moderately complex estate planning instruments, Power of Attorney, Power of Attorney for Personal Care files
  • Assistance with corporate/business files, including drafting & review of partnership and shareholder agreements, managing minute-books and commercial agreement preparation/drafting & review.
Skills and Specifications
  • Experience with purchases, sales, refinances, private mortgages, new construction, assignments and condominiums
  • Experience running and managing real estate files and reviewing agreements of purchase and sale
  • Experience drafting & reviewing partnership and shareholder agreements
  • Experience managing minute-books
  • Experience preparing and reviewing various commercial agreements & documents (e.g. confidentiality agreements, GSA, etc.)
  • Experience drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, Powers of Attorney for Personal Care
  • Experience reviewing and drafting a variety of corporate/business documents
  • Proficiency in Unity, Teraview, PC Law, Fast Company, Will Builder, Microsoft Office, Zoom and Gmail. Experience working in Clio is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work well independently, with little supervision, as well as part of a team
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organisational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to follow through on instruction
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to liaise with a wide range of clients
  • Critical thinking and analysis
  • Show discretion and good judgement in dealing with sensitive and confidential situations
Job Type: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:
  • Paid vacation (2 weeks in Year 1, subject to review thereafter)
