We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.PositionThe XVA trading desk seeks to generate value in many areas of the global capital markets while efficiently managing a portfolio of risks spanning multiple asset classes. The position will appeal to highly quantitative individuals aspiring to trade and with a strong desire to work and learn in a dynamic, challenging and exciting environment. For a highly motivated, self-starting individual, there can be few working environments which offer a richer, more stimulating and rewarding experience than the trading floor of a major financial institution.This position will provide you with hands-on experience working with cutting edge financial products and experienced credit and rates traders. It will provide substantial responsibility and unique, in-depth exposure to the strategies and products traded in the fixed income and currency markets as well as provide exposure to the cutting edge development of XVA.As the Associate, you will contribute to the overall success of the XVA Trading Group supporting GBM in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.AccountabilitiesChampions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Works with Derivatives Sales groups to price in all XVA considerations for standard and non-standard cases.Communicates with Sales & Trading groups on new XVA developments and XVA theory.Build models and tools to help the desk with various functions such as pricing trades, managing risk, developing trading strategies and profitability analysis.Act as a liaison between Sales & Trading groups and XVA desk by communicating new trades and executing the respective hedges for the XVA trading books.Assist in PnL reconciliation and risk rebalancing activities for XVA books including creating and managing the tools to support these activities.Act as back up trader for XVA books, managing day to day risk in the XVA books.Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.RequirementsDegree in a quantitative discipline such as Math, Engineering, Science, TechnologyStrong knowledge of IR ( interest rates) and FX and derivatives markets and productsPassion for Capital Markests specifically in a Trading capacityStrong communication and client management skillsStrong understanding of various XVAs (CVA, FVA, ColVA)Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environmentFluency in Python is a must; vba and perl are also useful.Location(s): Canada : Ontario : TorontoScotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
