Together we deliver exceptional experiences to our over 2 million daily customers.We are looking for a highly motivated BI & Data Analyst to join the Financial Systems Team in Toronto. This role will report to the Director, Financial Systems and be responsible for designing and maintaining management system reports (including Power BI, Excel, HFM and JDE), performing data analysis and interpreting results using a using a wide variety of financial applications. To succeed in this role, candidates will have a strong aptitude towards working with large volumes of data, experience in data analytics, ability to mine data, and report design and generation. This role requires strong attention to detail as well as the ability to multitask in a complex environment. The preferred candidate will have a strong focus on customer service and be a team player with a proven ability to build relationships between the business groups, financial team and IT department.As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Work with financial and operational data from primary or secondary data sources
  • Identify, analyze, interpret and report on trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Financial data exploration and drawing meaningful conclusions and insights, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs
  • Filter and “clean” financial data by reviewing extracts, reports, printouts, and performance indicators to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems, including data quality, integrity issues and follow data governance policies
  • Work with management teams to prioritize business, analytics and information needs and understand dashboard requirements
  • Develop and support financial and operational reporting dashboards within Power BI and work closely with Oxford and OMERS teams in Canada, US, Europe and AsiaPac
  • Assist with the preparation and development of reporting, presentations and various materials for discussion at the executive level
  • Seek efficiencies in existing processes and execution of process improvement initiatives, including exploring and identifying potential new tools and technologies for enhancing reporting automation capabilities
To succeed in this role, you have:
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field
  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role (e.g. Data Analyst or BI Data Analyst)
  • Technical expertise in data mining and financial data analysis, with an understanding of financial reporting concepts
  • Proven ability to communicate and synthesize complex ideas or large amounts of data into simple, concise presentations at the executive level
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving skills and innovative approaches for resolution
  • Strong project management and organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and manage high priority projects with multiple or competing deadlines
  • Experience working with financial applications, primarily Hyperion Financial Management and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is an asset but not required
  • Commercial real estate experience preferred but not required
  • Strong eagerness to learn new tools, topics and explore opportunities to improve efficiencies and capabilities
  • Team oriented individual with strong communication skills, who is comfortable engaging with different groups within the organization
  • Highly proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Macros), Power BI, SQL and working with data platforms such as Microsoft Azure. Experience and exposure to Hyperion Financial Management, Global Spreadsheet Server, Other BI Tools (Tableau) an asset.
  • Willingness to learn RPA and automated technologies and exposure to UI Path an asset
  • Desirable: Understand database structures; coordinate with Data Team on data architecture, direct system feeds and experience using Microsoft Azure or similar data platforms.
