A Better World.Don’t miss out on the opportunity to work alongside the world’s best in paediatric healthcare.Position DescriptionThe Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG) is currently looking for a Biostatistician to join the Statistical Analysis Facility. The Statistical Analysis Facility provides consulting and statistical analysis services in the field of statistical genetics. This individual will work with the manager and other Biostatisticians on the execution of various projects from internal and external clients.Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Communicate with facility clients to provide statistical advice and assistance for a wide range of experimental and methodological approaches
  • Perform statistical analyses using existing software packages and in-house scripts
  • Prepare detailed analysis report following facility protocols
  • Conduct literature reviews and keep current with literature and new methods in the field
  • Provide support for grant application and assist clients with manuscript preparation
  • Attend training sessions and seminars
Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • MSc in Statistics or Biostatistics with a focus on genetics and/or genomics
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in related research environment
  • Able to explain design considerations and analysis to clients from various background
  • Practical experience in the analysis of genome-wide association, gene expression and epigenetic data sets
  • Experience with processing and analyzing next-generation sequencing data would be an asset
  • Advanced programming skills in R and PLINK; knowledge of Python, Perl or C is desirable
  • Experience working on High Performance Computing servers and knowledge of shell scripts
  • Understanding of basic concepts in molecular biology and human genetics
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to prioritize work in response to multiple demands
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
