Job Description

Location: Toronto, Ontario, CanadaReports to: National Marketing Manager, CanadaY ou Can Look Forward To :All B-F Marketers are expected to be leaders in building “best in class” brands and execution to drive the corporate, USA/Canada, and Marketing strategies. The B-F Brands Manager must superbly deliver against four key strategic goals: 1) Captivate the consumer, 2) Drive holistic communication throughout the consumer journey, 3) Leverage and strengthen the portfolio, and 4) Make it easy to buy and sell our brands. In addition, the B-F Brands Manager must model the eight key differentiating capabilities: 1) Inspiring insights, 2) Innovation, 3) Building brand equity, 4) Strategies for growth, 5) Impact at point of purchase, 6) Consumer communication, 7) Driving brand business performance, 8) Igniting digital.Brands: This role is responsible for leading our Brown-Forman Brands in Canada, which currently include North American whiskies (Woodford Reserve, Old Forester), tequilas (El Jimador, Herradura) and other brands (Finlandia, Benriach, Glendronach, Glenglassaugh, Sonoma Cutrer. Chambord) to ensure growth and achieve short and long-term brand and business goals.What You Can Expect :

  • Accountable for the business plan, P&L and profit delivery of these brands
  • Defines and manages budgets, metrics and KPIs for the managed portfolio
  • Analyzes financial and business performance to ensure brand objectives are met
  • Partners with the sales team to implement business strategies and marketing plans to ensure long-term brand success
  • Supports the ongoing implementation and execution of each brand’s global campaign strategy
  • Develops and implements short and long term brand strategies
  • Develops robust marketing plans based on strong business diagnostics
  • Develops and activates innovative brand building platforms and programs
  • Leads and collaborates with agencies to build a holistic communication plan through all consumer touchpoints
  • Leads consumer and commercial activation plans along with the communication of these plans to the sales leads and distributor
  • Leads and collaborates with the dedicated Advocacy & Engagement Team (AEM Team), in the creation of their consumer and trade/advocacy activation plans, in alignment with the brands’ key pillars and thematics
  • Leads, manages and supports B-F Brands innovation/new product development pipeline in Canada
  • Manages line extensions and allocations of specialty SKUs for various brands in the portfolio
  • Identifies multi-cultural insights that inform diverse marketing strategies across different consumer groups
  • Leads and secures education and implementation of B-F policies of responsibility, particularly around marketing practices
  • Leads and secures education and implementation of initiatives and programs related to diversity, aligned with the region’s goals
What Exactly Are We Looking For
  • B.A. plus 7+ years marketing and or sales experience in a consumer goods environment
  • Spirits/ Bev Alc industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, executing and managing brand plans
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex multi-brands portfolios, with brands at different stages of the brand cycle
  • Strong verbal and written communicator who can create clear images through words
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively in a collaborative matrix
  • Brand championship and an ability to persuade and invigorate others toward a common goal and success
  • Experience working with and managing outside agencies (Marketing, PR, Events, Media...)
  • Experience working with and understanding the beverage alcohol industry in Canada
  • Experience working and collaborating with distribuitor partners
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute innovative “big ideas” that grow brands
  • New product experience and track record of success launching new brands in the Canadian market
  • Strong analytic skills and the ability to turn “insights to actions”
  • Strong results orientation, with a track record of superior financial performance
  • Ability and willingness to travel 35-40% of the time, including some weekends
  • Ability and willingness to attend events on some evenings and some weekends
