The Building Operator is responsible to monitor and adjust building equipment and ensure maximum efficiency and tenant comfort is achieved. You will be a part of an exciting and enthusiastic team out at Yorkdale Mall. With over 250 stores, including many luxury retailers and exciting transformations down the road, this is the time to join Yorkdale!The role requires someone who can multi-task, build effective relationships with customers and employees coupled with effective time management and organization skills.As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

• Meter readings, daily boiler readings, water treatment and building operations via the building automation system
• Basic programming, scheduling and commanding of equipment through building automation system
• Maintenance on all mechanical equipment including monthly, quarterly, and annual preventative maintenance tasks
• Minor plumbing and mechanical repairs on base building equipment
• Monitoring the building automation system to ensure tenant comfort and to ensure systems are running at maximum efficiency
• Contacting and managing 3rd party contractors for projects and repairs as required

To succeed in this role, you have:

• A minimum of 5 years industry experience and can demonstrate good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting knowledge and skills
• Preference will be given to candidates who have 4th Class Power Engineering certification
• A 5th class ticket might be considered if the candidate has an extensive plumbing and small equipment repairs experience (pumps, motors, fans, heating controls).
• Journeyman certificate in plumbing would be considered an asset
• Education: minimum high school diploma
• Have worked with HVAC systems, Preventative Maintenance, Fire & Life Safety Systems
• Experience with building automation systems: Trane, Delta Controls, or JCI Metasys
• Knowledge of building systems and controls, HVAC trouble shooting and repairs, and experience with DDC automation systems would be an asset
