Job Description

Exhibition Place is Canada’s largest entertainment venue, attracting over 5.5 million visitors a year. In addition, our total rewards program includes participation in OMERS - defined contribution pension plan, 100% employer paid health & dental plan, long term & short-term disability coverage, professional development opportunities, and tuition reimbursement.Primary FunctionProvide assistance in maintaining the Building Automation System and Fire and Life Safety Systems.Major Responsibilities

  • Monitor all building automation systems including mechanical/electrical, ventilation, heating, cooling, fire equipment, and Life Safety Systems.
  • Monitor the fire panel and respond to alarms.
  • Maintain daily records of required maintenance and inspections of building operating systems.
  • Conduct inspections and periodic tests on operating equipment including emergency generators, fire alarm systems, fire pumps, fire suppression and sprinkler systems.
  • Undertake assessments of building related emergencies and determine priority of remediation actions.
  • Liaise with contractors, Provincial and City of Toronto inspectors.
  • Perform visual inspection of lighting system for proper lighting levels and possible burnouts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications1. A Technical Trades Certificate plus Systems Maintenance Technician and Systems Maintenance Administrator designation or equivalent combination of education and experience in a discipline pertinent to the job function.2. Experience utilizing software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail).3. Experience conducting property inspections.4. Proven customer service skills.5. Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.6. Ability to work both independently and/or in a team environment.7. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and written.8. Ability to work on a rotating shifts, 12 hours in length including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.9. Working knowledge of building preventative maintenance programs.10. Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems, including but not limited to Johnson Metasys, Invensys, GE Fanuc, Automated Logic systems, mechanical/electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, fire protection systems, emergency generators and general building equipment.11.
