Reporting to the Materials Director, you will be responsible for strategic analysis and business intelligence for the Materials activities in Canada. As a leader in the production and sale of the aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and inert materials that go into paving the roads that connect Canada, your research and analysis will play a key role in the decisions that help form some of the nations largest infrastructure projects.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the strategic analysis of Materials in Canada
  • Assist the Materials Director in structuring specific analyses: data collection, quantitative models, presentations
  • Collection of data and building of databases necessary for the analysis
  • Identify development opportunities: definition of target markets, M&A potential, partnerships
  • In conjunction with the Colas Materials Strategy team in France, participate in the development of tools, approaches and methodologies required to define long-term strategic plans.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • You have a university degree in business, engineering, or accounting
  • You may be a new graduate, or have 2 – 3 years of work experience in market analysis, strategy, or consulting in a mid-to-large-sized organization
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and are a great listener
  • You have an analytical mind and know how to tell stories with data
  • You work well independently and have a strong sense of initiative
  • You have an excellent command of Excel and PowerPoint; mastery of data visualization tools (Power BI or similar) a plus
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in road construction and/or road construction materials is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/French) both written and verbal is a plus
  • Able to travel within Canada and internationally (20%)
