Job Description

Business Intelligence Developer Advantage Group International is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to join our Technology team to help us manage, maintain, and improve our dashboards and reports platform which are at the core of our business.Who We Are Advantage believes that stronger collaboration leads to better business results in any market and any industry.Our relationship benchmarking capabilities have become the gold standard for measuring business-to-business engagement in over 40+ countries for over 30 years. Who We’re SeekingWe are looking for a versatile Business Intelligence (BI) Developer who can evolve with the Business Intelligence platform and the changing business climate.This individual will be responsible for design, development, and maintenance of syndicated visualizations, dashboards and reports, performance tuning and data synchronization.They would also integrate the dashboards into client-facing portals for a seamless user experience.The successful candidate will need to optimize the performance of these dashboards and reports by ensuring smooth data flow between applications and fast retrieval of complex results.The candidate will also be responsible for evaluating new BI tools and for evolving our processes. In other words, we need someone who: 

  • Three or more years’ experience in the Business Intelligence field.
  • Is an expert in developing reports and dashboards in Tableau or another BI tool.
  • Is great at analyzing data relationships.
  • Thrives in a small multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Can assist in the design and implementation of data warehouses, data marts, and governance frameworks.
  • Can analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex performance and data integrity related issues.
Your Day-to-Day Currently – in production – a variety of internal applications and external systems are used to create surveys, analyze responses, and report the results.We are maintaining current production systems and enhancing their functionality and performance.Your responsibilities will involve:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain syndicated visualizations, dashboards and reports.
  • Review and optimize performance of visualizations, dashboards and reports.
  • Meet with stakeholders to gather requirements and follow up to ensure data needs are being met.
  • Create data models to visualize the database structure.
  • Read data from multiple data sources and transform, enrich, and aggregate data for an efficient presentation in an enterprise environment.
  • Provide input into the architecture, design, and implementation of the business intelligence solution.
  • Recommend improvements to streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy and usability.
  • Remain abreast of technology developments within fields relevant to current and future BI and Reporting initiatives.
  • Test the work of other team members.
  • Assist with production configuration and deployment, as necessary.
Your Skills You must have knowledge of and experience with:
  • Hands on experience with Business intelligence and data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker.
  • Transform data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals.
  • Use coding languages like JavaScript to build visualization extensions to embed in existing BI Tools
  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex performance and data integrity related issues.
  • Can work in an Agile environment (be part of a team and manage your own time).
Knowledge and experience with the following is beneficial: 
  • SQL query skills (views, stored procedures, multi-table joins, temp tables) with large data sets.
  • Programming skills (JavaScript, Python, Java) for integrating the dashboards into client-facing portals.
  • Importing file-based data into a relational database.
  • Use coding languages such as R to analyze data
You should understand:
  • Software architecture.
  • Database design and optimization.
  • Software development processes and methodologies.
  • Data security.
