The Business Intelligence Specialist, Provincial LTV Program, plays a key role in the larger provincial strategy to inform key decision related to the Strategy and future planning priorities. Reporting to the Director of the provincial LTV strategy, the business intelligence specialist will bridge the technical and data needs of the strategy by acting as a consultant to answer challenging questions using their data expertise and technical know-how.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BA) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or relevant fieldMinimum two years of experience in administering, managing and tuning databasesMinimum two years of experience with Oracle RAC, SQL Server or MySQLGood understanding of data and schema standards and conceptsGood understand database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenanceProficient with front-end web development technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavascriptProficient with at least one back-end web development language such as Ruby, Python, PHP, Perl, etc.Prior experience using a framework such as Ember, ReactJS, Angular, NodeJS, etc.Ideally, proficient with open-source tools/environmentKnowledge of provincial data assetsProven experience as a BI Developer or Data ScientistIndustry experience is preferredBackground in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data miningIn-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworkFamiliarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovativeAnalytical mind with a problem-solving aptitudeEvidence of satisfactory attendance recordAn employee’s disciplinary record will be reviewed as part of the assessment of qualificationsAbility to work in a manner that exemplifies the centre’s core values and helps patients get their life backShould be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitorsAccountabilities:Translate business needs to technical specificationsDesign, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)Conduct unit testing and troubleshootingCollaborate with teams to integrate systemsDevelop and execute database queries and conduct analysesCreate visualizations and reports for requested projectsDevelop and update technical documentationAt West Park Healthcare Centre, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment, an important part of living our brand.
