A 100% plant-based cafe.Located in the heart of Leslieville, Plant Lyfe focuses on providing guests with a 100% plant-based menu of coffee, smoothies, juices and light eats.Located on the lower-level of our Lyfe Meditation Studio, we aim to create a safe, warm and welcoming space for people to find a moment of calm and community within the hustle of city-living; to catch up with friends over a cup of coffee; to sit with a book and a cold-pressed juice; to mindfully enjoy a meal.We aspire to operate our business in a manner that is kind to our people, planet and animals. We strive to offer classes to nourish the mind, food to nourish the body and experiences to nourish the soul.We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who’s passionate about plant-food and excited about helping us create a welcoming vibe with a focus on exceptional customer service.RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee café operations and manage team members
• Assign tasks & responsibilities to team members
• Ensure that food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation is in accordance with specifications and recipes

• Maintain inventory of daily required items according to the instruction received by management, and inspect kitchen and food service area on a regular basis
• Manage digital ordering platforms including UberEats & Ritual
• Prepare espresso based beverages including lattes, cappuccinos, etc. using a manual espresso machine
• Take guest orders using the point of sale system, accurately handling credit/debit payment processing
• Taking inventory of café supplies and ordering new stock as needed
• Heightened awareness and attention to Covid precautions, as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of previous cafe/restaurant management experience in a fast casual food environment required
• Availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
• Ability to work as part of a team with a variety of staff, professionals, and other members of the community
• Espresso machine knowledge and techniques (semi-automatic espresso machine, manual adjustment of grinding and dosing, texturing mylk (microfoam), free-pouring of latte art).
• Personal commitment to health and wellness and passionate about healthy and sustainable eating
• Knowledgeable about plant-based eating
• Participate in scheduled staff meetings when requested
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Self-starter. Able to multitask and work well under pressure
• Food Handlers Certificate required
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs
