cloud infrastructure specialistAre you looking for a career opportunity within a global, growing real estate companyThen you might be our cloud infrastructure specialist.Join us and be a part of our journey.job descriptionAkelius is seeking a cloud infrastructure specialist to join the IT team in our Toronto office.The Cloud Infrastructure Specialist will be primarily responsible for maintaining the existing cloud infrastructure, primarily in Microsoft Azure.The successful individual will be looked upon to continuously extend the services to provide an improved working environment for Akelius staff.

  • manage all aspects of the existing IT infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
  • create and maintain Azure virtual machines
  • react on alerts from Azure Monitor, extend monitoring using LogAnalytics
  • configure Azure Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups and Azure Firewall
  • keep Azure Virtual Desktop and up to date and configuring the FsLogix profile management
  • manage users and identity between and on-premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
  • setup and configure SQL Servers, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and IIS servers with Application Gateways
  • maintain Azure Files Sync infrastructure with on-premises file servers and Sync Group storage accounts
  • enhance the security level within the infrastructure by implementing recommendations from Azure Advisor, Azure Security Center and CloudApp Security
  • reduce costs by scaling the environment according to the business needs
  • research and test new services that can improve the workflow for the users or the setup of the environment
  • partner closely with Cloud Infrastructure team out of Sweden
  • collaborate with local Office IT, Modern Workplace, Applications, Network, Security, Service Desk and DevOps teams in all Akelius countries
  • perform other duties as needed
who you are
  • post-secondary education in a computer related field
  • three or more years of experience in Microsoft Azure’s products, among others:
    • Azure Active Directory and Identity Governance
    • Azure Virtual Machines
    • Azure Virtual Networks
    • Azure Virtual Desktop
    • LogAnalytics Workspaces
  • knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating System environment and Microsoft’s server products (SQL Server, IIS)
  • willing to work in a distributed team
  • Microsoft certifications in Microsoft Azure
  • Fluent in English language, both verbal and written
