The reader sees herself reflected back in the best possible light: strong, smart, beautiful.The Kit Collab is The Kit’s in-house integrated marketing and sales team. It consists of employees who are strictly focused on increasing revenue from both traditional and integrated media opportunities in the lifestyle category. The Kit Collab team will bridge Torstar’s sales agencies and clients with to create the most innovative, collaborative, integrated, and authentic opportunities possible — both for The Kit brand and for Curiocity, Torstar’s latest joint venture. The Kit Collab is nimble and dynamic — a modern team for modern client needs.Curiocity:Torstar Corporation has entered into a partnership with Curiocity Group Inc., one of Canada’s leading digital audiences. The partnership is the latest in a series of innovative Torstar initiatives designed to meet the needs of advertisers by providing relevant and engaging hyper-local content that appeals to fast-growing digital-first audiences. Torstar will partner with Curiocity on its sales and marketing initiatives as well as assume a minority ownership of the firm.Founded in 2017 by Mark Montanini and Lisa Briscoe, the Calgary-based Curiocity operates hyper-local websites and social media accounts in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Seattle, Washington (https://curiocity.com/). The company specializes in social-first publishing, off-screen events and marketing. Curiocity uses photos, video and written content with a hyper-local focus to deliver audiences that want to know what to do, where to go and when things are happening in their city and that are attractive to large and small brands.Job DescriptionMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:The Collab Coordinator will support the Collab and Sales teams for both The Kit and Curiocity media brands. The Collab Coordinator will be responsible for:MATERIAL MANAGEMENT & COPY DIRECTION:

  • Working with the Collab Specialist and Director to build 1-pagers and proactive media materials for The Kit and Curiocity;
  • Building decks and proposals for clients in InDesign and PPT, with strategy guidance from the Collab Specialist;
  • Writing copy for mock-ups and creative ideas, built and developed with the Intermediate Art Director;
  • Updating media kits and materials as needed, loading them onto internal Sharepoint systems;
  • Supporting sales on pulling relevant examples and materials for their clients, as requested.
PROJECT COORDINATION:
  • Collaborating with project managers and campaign teams at The Kit, Star Metroland Media, Curiocity and our external agencies to ensure that sold campaigns have all materials and assets ready for project success;
  • Liaising with the relevant teams in an organized, consistent way;
  • Maintaining systems and trackers with the Collab team.
COMPETITIVE TRACKING:
  • Tracking innovative marketing and event executions and presenting concepts to Collab team;
  • Developing innovative new collab ideas that can be pitched to a variety of clients;
  • Prospecting new clients and cross-check against Salesforce and the accounts lists for actionable next steps.
ADMIN:
  • Overseeing the internal functioning of the office, with: library stacking, couriering, tracking;
  • Order marketing collateral for key partnerships
QualificationsAll candidates must be passionate about lifestyle media. He/she/they must be strategic and analytical, while also creative. He/she/they must be methodical, organized, reliable, trustworthy. He/she/they must simultaneously be ready for a dynamic, changing landscape that requires quick thinking, quick learning and quick action. A positive attitude is a must, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Qualifications include:
  • Intern or coordinator experience in media or at an agency (ad or PR);
  • Brand experience in social media;
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, with focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Intermedia knowledge of InDesign is a plus.
