Job Description

SummaryIn Ontario we are currently seeking a Commercial P&C Underwriter, reporting to the Underwriting Manager, who’s main mission will be analyzing and underwrite applications for realty, SME, manufacturers, wholesalers, contractors, and other general P&C accounts. We are looking for people that are entrepreneurial and inquisitive in nature to join our team of over 200 employees across Canada and help in our transformation of brokers access to commercial insurance.Main responsibilities

  • Develop, underwrite and service new business & renewals in accordance with our program and contract guidelines or as a wholesaler
  • Advance business relationships with existing and new brokers through professional service and marketing visits
  • Collaborate with colleagues on current and future opportunities
  • Represent the company at industry events as required
  • Maintain market intelligence, business insurance trends and industry knowledge.
Profile
  • 3 to 5 years of commercial underwriting experience
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance for: Realty, SME, Manufacturers, Wholesalers, Contractors, and Construction underwriting.
  • Confidence and ability to analyze and make decisions
  • Adaptability and flexibility in the face of change
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Sense of responsibility and priorities
  • Entrepreneurial with a positive team spirit
  • CRM, CIP or FCIP preferred
