As a Consultant, Application Development you will take lead and ownership of the design, code development, documentation, implementation and support and contribute to the delivery of projects. The incumbent will assist in designing solutions that leverage the EDF and the strategic technology direction. This role supports a variety of technology disciplines and hands-on development work would be expected along with technical leadership capability.How You’ll SucceedAct as a SME: Review requirements and prepare design specifications, conducting impact analysis and provide feedback on problems and provide critical solutions and services in a timely and cost-effective manner. Participate as a SME for the application and work with other teams to provide a technical solution. Provide estimates for assigned work packages and take the lead role in delivery; analyze and estimate feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other components. Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved and SLO/SLA are met.Logical and Analytical Actions: Perform complex applications programming activities. Code, test, debug, document, maintain, and modify complex applications code/scripts. Assess technical viability of emerging products, technologies and methods. Identify patterns and best practices to consider in business/technology areas. Monitor and analyze code performance and make recommendations to enhance or modify as needed. Troubleshoot and debug critical issues to ensure that the system(s) are running as expected. Participate in design and code reviews and provide recommendations for signoff. Coordinate coding, testing, implementation, integration and documentation of solution. Develop program specifications.Relationship Building : Work closely with other cross functional teams (PMO, BA, Operations, QA and external vendors) to support them and ensure that projects get delivered ontime and withn budget. Collaborate with business and other external parties involved in delivering a sustainable solutionLeadership: Project planning, including resource assignment and budgeting CIBC Enterprise Delivery Framework Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile (Req, and Agile approach to project delivery an asset). Ability to lead an assigned project team of developers to meet project timelines and deliverables.Who You AreYou can demonstrate experience with Databases (Exadata/Oracle, Netezza, MSSQL) & ETL tools (DataStage, Informatica, SSIS, Syncsort), Data warehouse design, concepts and functionalities ETL design and function, Metadata and Data profiling, Reporting and Analytic tools (Cognos, SQL, SAS), Code repository and code management (GitHub, TFS preferred), Autosys and Feedhub. It’s an asset if you have experience with Cloud technology (Azure preferred), DevOps and relevant toolsYou give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems, and making sense of information. You're confident in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way.You're digitally savvy.
