Consultants support our client teams on a wide range of projects including media relations, influencer engagement, social/digital, community management and client events. • Execution of client campaigns under the direction of account leads, including media relations, events, influencers, client service and more.
• Leading the development of media materials (pitches, target lists, key messaging) and the identification of social media targets.
• Proactive ideation rooted in the latest industry and category trends, what’s happening in the city and general pop culture.
• Leverage your relationships in the industry to drive impact for H+K’s clients – with a key focus on the consumer/lifestyle space
• Conducting media relations to secure interviews, news coverage, and attendance at client events.
• Overseeing the monitoring of traditional and social media and reviewing reports that have been prepared using these tools for clients.
• Providing updates to teammates about program progress and proactively recommending adjustments to client programs based on experience and feedback.
• Exercising your creativity and strategic thinking in identifying next steps in projects based on plans.
• Contributing to the campaign planning process.

What you’ll need to get here:

• 2-5 years’ work experience in a communications role (internship/volunteer experience applicable); publicity experience is an asset.
• An undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
• Natural curiosity and genuine passion for storytelling.
• Tapped into pop culture and social trends with great industry relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail.
• The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work accordingly.
• Prior experience with media relations, influencer engagement and/or community management.
• An understanding of both traditional PR and digital program execution.
• Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok,Tumblr, Pinterest, Snapchat, and Reddit.
• Passion, tenacity, and enthusiasm for a team-based environment and culture.
