Learn more: KPMG Valuations-Deal Advisory, CanadaThe opportunityAre you a talented individual with a proven track record on executing project deliverables.Our Real Property Appraisal Valuations team in Toronto is looking for a professional like you with the skills and drive to make a real difference.Joining our team as an experienced Real Property Appraisal Consultant, you will develop your skills in property valuation and general real estate expertise. You will be given the opportunity to grow your career to an appraiser role and undertake complex property valuations. You will achieve the experience of complex and varied assignments across all asset classes, mentorship of the senior AACI’s and the team at largeWhat you will do:

  • Undertake the valuation of various types of real estate properties for a variety of functions such as parkland dedication, expropriation, arbitration, portfolio review, and litigation purposes.
  • Complete valuations of industrial properties, retail centres, office buildings, infrastructure, hotels, real estate investment portfolios, and special-use properties
  • Support the KPMG Audit practice in connection with various valuation needs such as reviewing reports
  • Gather and analyze data relating to the property being appraised
  • Gather, analyze and maintain internal database of market data from internal and third party sources
  • Perform site inspections to view the property and gather additional information relevant to the valuation
  • Build and review valuation models, analysis and appraiser reports
  • Think creatively to find solutions to unusual valuation circumstances & consult with professionals from KPMG’s global network as needed.
At times, business needs arise, and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need extra time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.What you bring to this role:
  • Valid membership in the AIC and current E & O insurance
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in Real Property Valuations and Advisory Consulting i.e. real property appraisal, and development of the real property valuation service
  • Ability and experience to assist in real property valuation opinions and real property valuation reviews
  • Proficiency working with Argus Enterprise
  • Attention to details with excellent analytical to provide market analysis advice with respect to purchase, sale, and leasing opportunities.
  • Effective communication skill both verbal and written along, with professional maturity and demonstrated ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse group of clients and colleagues
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency working with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A valid Ontario Driver’s License in order to undertake property inspections
