Job Description

Our Client

  • Is one of Canada #39;s largest privately owned asset management firms
Requirements
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the financial administration and reporting of Investment Vehicles. Assess cash flow projections and recommend distributions affecting Fund #39;s operating partners and projects at various developmental stages
  • Conduct due diligence on diverse transactions, collaborating with internal teams and external advisors to address tax, financial reporting, and administrative matters
  • Review and prepare quarterly financial statements (in accordance with ASPE or IFRS), Management Committee meeting material, facilitate budget reporting matters, and create ad hoc presentations
  • Manage all debt and lender compliance, including administration of Investment Vehicles #39; Credit Facility, officer certifications, and covenant calculations. Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions for working capital financing and letters of credit
  • Prepare and review audited financial statements, coordinating the quarterly and annual delivery as required by specific debt facilities or partnership agreements
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison between Infrastructure asset management and investment management teams, providing financial insights to facilitate informed decision-making for new and existing Investment Vehicles
  • Implement key initiatives aimed at enhancing the accessibility, timeliness, and quality of financial information outputs
Requirements
  • University/College Degree/Diploma in a relevant discipline
  • CPA, CA Designation, with consideration given to candidates with Big 4 Firm Experience
  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in a manager-level position (i.e., with direct reports)
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in writing technical accounting memos, crafting financial statement note disclosures, and handling complex accounting issues
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, financial institutions, auditors, and tax authorities
  • Background in financial statement preparation, maintenance of accounting records, and general ledger management
  • Expertise in tax filings and a thorough understanding of accounting policies and procedures, including proficiency in Canadian tax rules such as intercorporate and individual tax integration
  • Familiarity with accounting and tax software, preferably Yardi and Taxprep
  • Exposure to ASPE reporting and IFRS
  • Preferred strong working knowledge of Yardi
