Our staff are proud members of UFCW 1518 and this position is included in the unit.POSITION SUMMARYAs a member of Point Blank’s creative team, you’ll be responsible for writing and developing original creative content across a wide range of media, including but not limited to: television, radio, online, social, out of home, and print.Reporting to the Creative Director & Head Writer, you will work collaboratively with designers, art directors and strategists to come up with big picture ideas. • Work as the writer on creative and digital organizing projects of various scopes and sizes.
  • Supported by Creative Directors, Strategists, and Organizers.
• Work alongside Art Directors & Designers to develop creative concepts for creative and organizing projects of varying scopes.
• Collaborate with Campaigns and Design teams to identify innovative approaches, tools and tactics to help our clients win.
• Present creative deliverables to clients in pitch meetings.
• Develop content for PB’s own social media channels.
• Support business development, sales and marketing.
• Proofread and edit documents as assigned.
• Actively pursue continued professional development.

RequirementsWHO YOU ARE

• You are a developing content writer with some experience, and lots to learn, who can write a dynamite fundraising email like it was nothing.
• You have a real talent for distilling complex messaging into succinct and compelling content.
• You like coming up with strategic ideas as much as crafting compelling long copy and hate it when people say “long copy is dead.”
• You relish opportunities to exercise your creativity, but also recognize that sometimes, getting straight to the point without anything fancy is the best way to reach people.
• Although you may or may not know all the latest TikTok dance moves, you understand the value of keeping up with the latest social trends—to help you generate fresh and relatable content for those platforms and innovative ideas for other media. You have a firm grasp on your own voice as a writer, but have a real skill for replicating the tones of other established voices.
• When it comes to advertising awards, they’re nice to have, but youve got your eye on solving real-world problems. Youre passionate about fighting for social issues and lasting change, and are looking for an opportunity to use your skills to that end.

MUST-HAVES

• 1 - 3 years of experience in content writing.
• Ability to write compelling copy across different media, with specific experience writing emails professionally.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team of people with wide ranging and varied expertise.
• Experience working with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

ADDITIONAL ASSETS

• Professional writing in French (especially Québécois French) or other languages.
• Experience writing for digital organizing or political campaigns, NGOs, or labour unions.
