Job Description

  • contribute to setting and monitoring quality standards and coordinating the procurement of translation services government-wide
  • prepare complex requests for proposals (RFPs)
  • develop, update and implement corporate translation/evaluation standards and effective quality control methodologies for translated materials
How do I qualifyMandatory
  • proficiency in oral & written English and French at superior level
Project Management, Analytical, Evaluative skills:
  • you have project management skills to manage large and high complex translation projects
  • you have analytical and evaluative skills to ensure the meaning and intent of the original message is conveyed when translating or revising translations
  • you can prioritize workload
  • you can develop quality control methodologies and standards for translation services
Procurement and Contract Management:
  • you have comprehensive knowledge of service and contract management to manage contracts with external suppliers
  • you have advanced knowledge of industry practices and quality control/quality assurance methodologies to determine best practices and procedures and develop and enforce OPS-wide quality standards and procedures
  • you have knowledge of procurement principles and practices and you can prepare complex requests for proposal (RFPs)
Communication skills:
  • you have expert knowledge of written and oral English and French to ensure translations accurately convey original content and intent
  • you can prepare reports and surveys
  • you can address contentious issues and present recommendations and alternatives
  • you have strong interpersonal and customer service skills to provide advisory services to clients and interact with vendors
Negotiation/Conflict Resolution skills:
  • you have negotiation skills and conflict-resolution techniques to negotiate appropriate conditions for various projects
  • you can mediate disputes between clients and vendors
