This position reports into the Supervisor, Analytic Development. As a Data Analyst, you will focus on empowering our operations leaders by providing insight into their team’s progress and performance. This is accomplished through creating self-serve reports and dashboards. You will collaborate with different stakeholders to clarify requirements, set timeline, build, and deliver solutions using various data science and analytics software.A typical day

• Perform analysis of Shaw Operations, summarize findings and communicate results
• Collect and assemble requirements from end users and stakeholders and translate requirements into data analysis, reports, and dashboards
• Design and develop data analysis, reports, and dashboards that summarizes and transforms data from various data sources into understandable, actionable information
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies targeting architecture
• Engage in quality assurance processes to create a high standard of accuracy
• Clearly communicate project statuses with end leaders, users, and stakeholders
• Work closely with leadership to overcome any roadblocks

Your skills/experience

• Advanced knowledge on query optimization and best practices
• Self-Driven. Ability to work diligently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills - ability to communicate with technical teams as well as business users
• Demonstrated track record of delivering high quality solutions that are supportable and extensible
• Consistently able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet challenging deadlines, all while focusing on quality
• Advanced knowledge on query optimization and best practices
• Competent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical writing and data flow documentation.
• Team player with strong, proactive approaches that demonstrate continuous improvement
• A positive “can do” attitude that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity
• Develop and use error logs to guarantee traceability

Experience in the following technologies would be considered an asset:

• Alteryx, Snowflake, Tableau and Power BI
• ETL development experience
• A solid understanding of SQL, and other DB constructs including stored procedures, functions, views and execution plans
• Experience and Familiarity with Python data libraries
