Become part of a strong and successful company that’s trusted by millions of Canadians to do the right thing.Be your best at Canada Life.We are looking for a Data Visualization Technical LeadGiven the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg.The Technical Lead will be accountable for the overall health of Data Visualization platform which includes delivery support and maintenance. You will contribute to the roadmap through collaboration with the Product Owners and Portfolio Architects. You will be part of implementing the platform and establishing support and operational processes for data visualization development lifecycle. You will be responsible for enabling platform capabilities to meet the needs of business stakeholders.What you will doManaging Power BI Workspaces and Groups under Premium capacitySupport Power BI adoption initiatives for various business units across organization - provide support towards internal and external reporting capabilities (including usage of Power BI Embedded capability)Provide technical guidance on Power BI security and access control capabilities, as well as security integration with Enterprise AD and Azure AD, as requiredInstallation, configuration, and upgrades of Data Gateways (if needed)Strong communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with large and small technical audiences including ability to influence right technology decisions with leadersMust Have Experience and Skillset:Strong technical experience supporting Power BI data visualization platform. Experience in managing Power BI Premium Capacity on Azure Cloud including Workspace and Group ManagementGood understanding of Microsoft Azure ecosystem and how Power BI can be integrated with the other componentsProficiency in administering Power BI throughout the organization, and support Power BI adoption initiatives across various business unitsStrong knowledge and experience with Power BI Service (SaaS) and Power BI Embedded capabilityProven experience in Power BI compliance, data privacy, data classification, security, and access control – including Row-level security and restrictions in sharing, exporting, and publishing of Power BI reports / dashboardsDemonstrated capability on Data Gateways installation, configuration, and upgradesStrong proficiency in Power BI Report Performance Optimization and tuning including Caching techniquesExperience in Power BI Security Integrations with Enterprise AD, Azure AD, SAML and other next-gen IdP (Identity Provider)Good-to-have Experience and Skillset:Hands-on experience in Power BI report and dashboard preparation – knowledge of DAX, Power BI Data modeling, and various visualization techniquesProficiency in UI Transform query building including using M in Advanced Query EditorStrong knowledge of industry best practices in the areas of data import vis-à-vis direct connectivity, reuse of existing datasets, and file size management among other areasExperience in daily Power BI administration monitoring and health checksWorking experience with Solution and Enterprise Architects to develop solutions including DR and HA setupsExperience in Tableau Server Administration and clustering / load balancing of environmentBe your best at Canada Life- Apply todayTechnology redefines the way we work and deliver to meet business needs and elevate the customer experience.
